San Bernardino Gastroenterology Associates and ACE Endoscopy & Surgery Center is a highly specialized gastroenterology clinic, and our experienced team of professionals is equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment technology to perform a variety of procedures for digestive diseases involving the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Most of the procedures are performed at our endoscopy center in Rialto. Our doctors also perform complex procedures at both San Bernardine Medical Center and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in San Bernardino.

Our board-certified doctors are affiliated with St. Bernardine Medical Center, Community Hospital of San Bernardino and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. They are also faculty members of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship program at University of California (UC) Riverside School of Medicine.

Kumar Bala, MD, FRCP, FACP

Kumar Bala, MD, FRCP, FACP, is a board-certified internist & gastroenterologist. Dr. Bala earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College, University of Madras in India. He completed his Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship at St. Georges Hospital University in London and at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Victor Guharoy, MD

Victor Guharoy, MD, is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (Chicago Medical School) in Illinois. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at University of California Riverside, where he also completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship. Dr. Guharoy has special interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and liver diseases.

Anas Kawayeh, MD

Anas Kawayeh, MD, is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine. He then completed his residency and fellowship at Loma Linda University. He went for further training in advanced endoscopy at Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He has a special interest in interventional endoscopy including ERCP and EUS in addition to pancreatic/biliary diseases.

Zeid K. Kayali, MD, MBA

Zeid K. Kayali, MD, MBA, is a board-certified internist, gastroenterologist, and transplant hepatologist. Dr. Kayali graduated from the University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine. He completed his Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship at University of Southern California – LAC/USC Medical Center and University of Iowa. He is the Medical Director of Inland Empire Liver Foundation, and he also serves as the Program Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at UC Riverside SOM.

Harold Paredes, MD

Harold Paredes, MD, is board certified in gastroenterology, hepatology and internal medicine. He received his medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NY and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island, NY. He then pursued advanced endoscopy fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Paredes has a special interest in pancreaticobiliary diseases. He has specialized training in endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), ERCP, cholangioscopy, endoluminal stent placement, endoscopic suturing, fistula and leak closure, and diagnostic and therapeutic EUS.

George Saffouri, MD

George Saffouri, MD, is a board-certified internist & gastroenterologist. Dr. Saffouri received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia). He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he also completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship. He has special interests in IBD, Clostridium difficile infection, and the gut microbiome. Dr. Saffouri serves as the Associate Program Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at UC Riverside SOM.

Jenna E. Jacobs, PA-C

Jenna E. Jacobs, PA-C, is board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She received her master’s degree from Touro University in Nevada.

Ira Santos, PA-C

Ira Santos, PA-C, is board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of the Pacific in Sacramento, California.
